Canal house museum · Herengracht 605 · Audio guide included · ★4.4 from 243 reviews
Museum Willet-Holthuysen, at Herengracht 605, is the natural companion to Van Loon. Where Van Loon tells the story of an old regent family, Willet-Holthuysen shows the house of a 19th-century collector couple, Abraham Willet and Louisa Holthuysen.
The rooms are richly furnished, and behind the house lies a formal garden. An audio guide is included in the ticket.
The two houses are about ten minutes apart on foot, which makes an easy canal-house morning.
Van Loon at 10:00, a walk along the Keizersgracht and Reguliersgracht, then Willet-Holthuysen before lunch. Both are historic houses with stairs, and neither is suitable for wheelchair users.

You enjoyed Van Loon, or want to compare two very different canal houses on the same day.
You'd rather understand the canal ring as a whole: the Museum of the Canals tells that story.
